A Bride's Guide to Selecting Wedding Accessories

Tiaras

Tiaras are a favorite hair accessory for ladies in high society, pageant winners, and brides. Tiara can compliment almost any wedding gown and hairstyle. This explains why tiaras over the course of many years remained certainly not mandatory, but highly desirable elements in the wedding attire of many modern brides. Besides, tiara just like flowers, can act as a focal point for any wedding hairstyle.

Tiara, thanks to its form, looks well in a combination with a wedding veil or without it. If a bride has lush, long hair, she may want to consider replacing a traditional veil with a tiara, which will accentuate her natural beauty.

Tiara is the ideal fashion solution. This hair accessory will transform any bride into a true princess. Tiara will compliment any type of wedding dress, but not any type of face shape. You should always try it on. Tiara can be made of decorative stones in a variety of colors and shades. Tiaras also come in both silver and gold settings. While both settings look good with any dress color, gold setting is perfect for ivory dresses. You can select a tiara based on any part of your wedding attire, such as the color of your dress or bouquet.

Wedding Jewelry Sets

According to most designers, pendants with a large stone or massive decoration should be used with simple wedding gowns only. In general, wedding jewelry should also compliment your hairstyle. Do not wear a watch for your wedding; it is a good idea to replace it with a bracelet. As a rule, simpler earrings and necklace go well with a wedding dress that has a large amount of ornaments on it. In any case, the principal decoration of the day is the wedding ring. Therefore, it’s a good idea to remove your favorite rings from other fingers for the wedding day.

A Bride's Guide to Selecting a Wedding Veil

You should keep several factors in mind when shopping for a Wedding Veil...

First, the style of your veil must remain in harmony with the style of your wedding (party, an official reception, wedding in the church …). Second, you want a veil that really compliments your wedding dress. And thirdly, you have to take into account your hairstyle.

You can decide to wear your veil for the ceremony only and then remove it for the reception or you can wear your veil all throughout the wedding.

In addition, you may want to take into account the religious requirements for your wedding. Various religions have different conventions against veils, so it is necessary for you to know the customs of your religion.

Blusher

Blusher is a single layer of tulle or a shorter tier of a wedding veil that falls in front of the face and is worn when walking down the aisle. Typically the bride's father lifts the blusher layer and folds it back over the longer one at the end of the processional.

Elbow Length Veil

This wedding veil is about 30 inches long flowing down gently on the shoulders and ending at your elbows. This is the most common length as it provides elegance without distracting any attention from the bride or the dress.

Fingertip Length Veil

This wedding veil is about 42” long extending down to your fingers. It compliments most wedding dress styles, from simple dresses to sophisticated ball gowns.

Waltz Length Veil

This wedding veil is about 65 inches long flowing down to your feet. Waltz length is a good choice if you want to wear a long veil, and your wedding dress doesn’t have a train.

Chapel Length Veil

This wedding veil is about 75 inches long flowing down the train of your wedding dress. This length is best suited for a more formal wedding.

Cathedral Length Veil

Cathedral veil is the longest bridal veil. Usually it matches the length of the wedding dress’s train. This wedding veil is about 120 inches long. When choosing this length, you have to decide for yourself if you really want to hide the back of your wedding dress. This veil is very long and can completely change the look of your wedding gown.

Mantilla

This Spanish version mantilla wedding veil is usually adorned with lace. This veil covers the head and usually descends to the elbow level.

2-Tier Veil

This wedding veil has two layers that extend to different lengths. Since the 2-Tier veil has more volume than a 1-Tier veil, make sure that the veil compliments your wedding gown and doesn’t distract from it.
